“Tell me that and we’ll go. Right now. Save ourselves and leave this place to burn. Tell me that’s how you want your story to go and we’ll write it straight across the sand.”
Dustwalk is an unforgiving, dead-end town. It’s not the place to be poor or orphaned or female. And yet Amani Al’Hiza must call it ‘home’.
Amani wants to escape and see the world she’s heard about in campfire stories.
Then a foreigner with no name turns up, and with him she has the chance to run.
But the desert plains are full of dangerous magic. The Sultan’s army is on the rise and Amani is soon caught at the heart of a fearless rebellion…
I’m not going to lie.. this one was a bit of a cover buy. I loved the look of the gold feather/waves on the border of the page and the exoticness of it drew me in like a moth to a flame! So it was most fortunate that I ultimately ended up adoring this novel by debut author, Alwyn Hamilton! Huzzah! I’ve already started harassing the author about the sequel, to which she assured me is currently in the works.
‘You know, I never believed in fate until I met you,’ he said, tipping his head back against the wall with a deep sigh. ‘Then I started thinking coincidence didn’t have near so cruel a sense of humour.’Alwyn Hamilton
Overall, Rebel of the Sands was a highly enjoyable novel that I would recommend picking up! A terrific debut by Alwyn Hamilton and a great start to a new series. I’m eagerly awaiting the next novel’s release! Click here to buy at Book Depository.
